Constable Ian Aird has moved on to pastures new and will now only occasionally patrol the town centre. He has been replaced by Constable Adam Potts who, working with Constable Sam Ewart, is determinded to make the town centre a safer place to be. Each of the cameras is currently being replaced by a higher resolution dome type camera. In addition a number of new camera sites have been identified and planning is well under way to commission these. It is hoped that this upgrade will assist in tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in the town centre.” |
Dumfries Retailers Association
The Dumfries Retailers Association (DRA) has a proud tradition of supporting the independent traders and retailers within Dumfries. We are represented on a number of key committees which have the remit to regenerate the town and make it a vibrant and successful place for both visitor and business alike.The DRA are also instrumental in fundraising for events which bring the community together such as the highly successful Christmas celebrations and street decoration.
The DRA offer support services to new business ventures and are always available to give advice to any Dumfries based business on a range of issues. We hold regular monthly meetings to which all members are welcome where the latest news, updates and issues are discussed.
