“Dumfries Town Centre has three community Police officers namely Constables Alistair Hope, Adam Potts and Ian Dawes. The officers work closely with the retailers in the town centre in an effort to provide a safe environment for people to work, stay and visit. A large part of their role involves dealing with shoplifters and other acts of anti social behaviour. To assist them in this, the Town Centre Retailers operate a shop exclusion scheme. Any person caught shoplifting within a member store is automatically banned from other participating shops. These retailers are also equipped with radios which are monitored by the CCTV operators to allow a quick response in apprehending suspects. The officers are keen to expand the radio link scheme and any retailer interested in joining should contact Alistair, Adam or Ian for more details. |

We currently have an office in Dumfries supporting the business community locally and also nationally through our membership of Scottish Chambers of Commerce and their affiliation to the British Chamber of Commerce.
